We have insurance reimbursement for Lactation Consulting!

Alisa, our RN/IBCLC has been hard at work this year getting insurance coverage for our clients!  Momentum Lactation is an official provider for the following insurance carriers:

  • Aetna
  • United Health Care
  • UMR and Coventry Health Care
  • Meritain

As always with insurance carriers, we can not guarantee consistency in coverage, but Alisa has been notified of provider status and will do all she can to make sure your visits are covered under these plans.  She is additionally working on coverage from other carriers and we will be sure to notify you of any changes or additions!

Typically, an initial Lactation Consultation, Follow-Up visits, as well as monthly support groups are covered under these plans, but you should check with your specific employer or state plan for details.  We welcome feedback on coverage and your experience with your insurance carrier and we look forward for reimbursement of this necessary service to come easily for all Momentum families!

Lactation Consults are suitable for any family navigating challenges with breastfeeding.  Lack of support is a primary reason parents feel they can not sustain breastfeeding, and a lack of knowledge makes us believe that is true.  More professional support from the beginning of your breastfeeding journey can ensure long-term wellness goals are met, and that more babies are getting breastmilk throughout their first year.
